Should you write a book about being a person who seriously enjoys herself at the table, one amazingly cool thing that might happen is you could be invited to be on the WHYY radio show "A Chef's Table," with the chef Jim Coleman. Which is what happened to me.
In a week I'm taking the train to Philadelphia to tape the show. And in addition to excitedly wondering what we'll talk about, and being horrified by the thought of the voice I've cringed to hear over the years, on answering machines and in taped conversations where I was the interviewer, reaching the ears of who knows how many people (if I put erasers on my back molars now, can I sound like Kathleen Turner by Thursday?), I'm wondering which farmers' markets to visit while I'm in town for the day.
What do you think?
I have an hour or two before the show, and an hour two after, and the WHYY studios are at N. 6th St. and Race. I'm thinking of checking out the Palmer Park Farmers' Market, and maybe the Reading Terminal Market.
Do you know Philadelphia? Have any advice? I'd be so grateful. (Talking points and vocal pointers are additionally very welcome.)

Greensgrow Farms is a farm stand, CSA and nursery that was developed on an abandoned lot in the Kensington section of Philadelphia. There's great information on the site, but it's worth checking out for the before and after photos alone!
